Parade Rules *
1. The Parade Chairpersons/Marshals will be in charge and reserve the rights to dismiss any entrant who does not abide by
parade rules. Entry to the parade is invitation only. The Parade Marshals have the right to accept, reject, reclassify or remove
any unit which does not follow the Parade Rules or the decisions of the Parade Chairpersons.
2. The general rules are those adopted by the Parade Sponsors of Northern California, Inc., California State Horsemen’s Association and the Scotts Valley Parade Committee.
3. The parade will be a FORWARD MOTION parade. All entries must complete the entire route.
4. Parade Marshals will be assigned to each division and will complete the route with that division. They will be clearly identified
and their authority must be respected.
5. All entries must indicate if they have music, sound amplifying systems and shall maintain a volume that will not interfere with
other entries.
6. No entry may enter the parade route more than once unless pre-approved by the Chairpersons.
7. Entries having children under age 18 must provide parents or other adult chaperones to walk alongside and supervise.
8. NO ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES IN STAGING AREA OR DURING PARADE
9. For safety reasons, all living things on a moving entry must be secured. No one is allowed to ride on a running board, hood,
roof or vehicle fender.
10. Units having animals must maintain control of them at all times. No firearms shall be fired, and no open flames allowed. All
floats must have a 2A-10BC rated fire extinguisher on board for safety reasons.
11. Only Business entries may display a company name, all others must be covered with decorations.
12. Entries must start at appointed start place and complete entire parade route or be disqualified.
13. No Water Spraying Allowed. (Be Respectful to Other People and Property)
