Hello and welcome to Sugar Swing's BYOV Application Form!
To start, please review our Application Package! It has all the particulars about our BYOV, including all details relating to pricing, tech, the booking, and operations.

Dates & Deadlines:
  • January 2024: Applications are open
  • March 1, 2024: Initial applicants will be notified by Sugar Swing by this date if they have been accepted to our venue or are wait-listed.
  • March 31, 2024: A signed contract and 50% deposit is due
  • April 15, 2024: BYOV Applications for the Fringe Theatre Festival close
  • April/May 2024: The weeks prior to Fringe Theatre requiring your show dates, Sugar Swing hosts a video conference call with all its artists to have them select their showtimes (similar to a hockey draft!)
  • Thursday, August 15, 2024: Remaining is 50% due

Show runtime *
We most readily accept shows that run 45-75 minutes. Keep in mind the Fringe guidelines and limits regarding show length. In terms of pricing, your fee is billed to the neared 1/4 hr; eg, 50min shows billed as 60min
How many shows would you like to book? *
Minimum 5, Maximum 12. More than 10 shows is a possibility, but it would need to be negotiated, and a larger deposit would be required.
What time of day is best to view your show
All productions will still choose their own showtimes (per "showtime selection"). This is only to help Sugar Swing select a balance of shows during the application stage, and optimize which shows would happen in which venue. 
How loud or quiet is your show? *
Despite excellent sound-isolation, a minor amount of sound transfer may occur if a show on the other floor is especially loud. We prefer not to run a loud & quiet show at the same time. However, we aim to stagger the shows between the upstairs & main floor such that there is little-to-no overlap.
  • Loud (5): concert style, or frequent/every-10-mins louder music, or heavy bass needed
  • Moderate (3): moments of both loudness & silence.A typical show. Some sound transfer between floors tolerable.
  • Quiet (1): Silence is especially important throughout the show
