We are currently recruiting 5th Graders (and select middle schoolers) for our Beginning Band Classes set to begin at Ware County Middle School in August. First, students should check out the video below to see and hear about all the instruments we offer in beginning band. Once students have seen and heard all the instrument information, they should complete the interest form letting the band director know that they want to be a part of the band.

Band Instrument Try-Out & Rental Nights

These special nights are designed for your child to come to our band room and try out as many instruments as they would like, so they can find the perfect fit. It's an exciting opportunity for your child to explore their musical talents and interests.

In addition to the try-out session, we also offer rental accounts for parents who want to secure an instrument for their child. By renting an instrument, your child can get a head start on practicing and be ready to hit the ground running when band classes begin in August.

Plus, if your child attends our special Summer Beginning Band Camp in June, they can get even more practice and experience before the school year starts.

We have two nights set aside for Instrument Try-Outs and Rentals.

Tuesday, May 16th - 4:00pm-6:00pm w/ Portman's Music (Brunswick, GA)

Thursday, May 18th - 4:00pm-6:00pm w/ Satilla Music (Blackshear, GA)

SUMMER BEGINNING BAND CAMP
The Summer Beginning Band Camp is a FREE music experience open to students who will be entering the beginning band programs at Ware and Waycross Middle Schools. Throughout this four-day summer camp, students will learn how to make the first sounds on their instrument. They will also learn how to read music. Each day will include like-instrument group learning and fun activities. There will be a free demonstration concert on the last camp day at 12 noon to showcase the skills learned over the week. This is a great week to get ready for next school year!!

Camp details are still being made, however we would like to know your interest level in participating. Please indicate your interest level below.

The tentative dates for the camp are June 19-22, 2023 (8am-12noon).
