Vice President
Serve as an aid to the President and other various duties and a member of the Executive Board. Practically speaking, be a sounding board, a level of continuity for communication, and be available to serve in the absence of the President. The Vice President is a member of the Executive Board, and is limited to a one-year term; however, can serve no more than 2 consecutive terms in this role.
Treasurer
The Treasurer is a member of the Executive Board and is responsible for managing all funds of the PTO according to our financial policies. He/she maintains the records, establishes an annual budget for approval by the members, provides an annual Treasurer’s report at the end of each school year, and is a signatory along with the President for any checks for our organization. He/she also files proper documentation annually with the IRS for our organization. The Treasurer is limited to a one-year term but has no consecutive term limits.
Secretary
The Secretary is a member of the Executive Board and will keep the minutes of the members' meetings and the meetings of the Executive Board. In coordination with the Treasurer, the Secretary also prepares any documentation necessary for the Organization’s 501(c)(3) status with the state of Tennessee. The Secretary is limited to a one-year term but has no consecutive term limits.
Communications Chair
The Communications Chair is a member of the Executive Board and is responsible for coordinating with the President and other members to provide and maintain timely communication on our Social media accounts, school marquee, school PA announcements, paper flyers, and e-flyers. Experience with social media and platforms such as Canva is preferred. The Treasurer is limited to a one-year term but has no consecutive term limits.
Membership Chair
The Membership Chair is a member of the Executive Board and leads the organization's campaign to promote and encourage membership among Snowden parents and faculty/staff. This office is limited to a one-year term but has no consecutive term limits.
Fundraising Chair
The Fundraising Chair is a member of the Executive Board and is responsible for the initiation of varied events to raise funds on behalf of the PTO. This position is limited to one one-year term but has no consecutive term limits.
Spiritwear Co-Chair
The Spiritwear Co-Chair shares the responsibilities of Spiritwear with another co-chair. Together, they collaborate on new spiritwear designs, items, pricing, marketing, and delivery of products. Experience with design is not required. We welcome an enthusiasm for school spirit and creativity! This is a committee position that volunteers for the entire school year and does not serve on the Executive Board
Spaghetti Supper Team Lead
The Spaghetti Supper is an annual Fall gathering at Snowden hosted by the PTO featuring a spaghetti supper, entertainment, the school’s Book Fair, and the school’s Open House aka STEAM Showcase. The Team Lead collaborates with the Spaghetti Supper planning team coordinating the food and drinks, tablescape, entertainment, advertising, ticket sales, and volunteers. This is a committee position and does not serve on the Executive Board. Planning for the Spaghetti Supper is approximately mid-August through early October. Once the event ends, this position is dormant until the following school year.
