Outstanding Senior Awards are given to graduating undergraduate seniors who have contributed the most to excellence at Rice University. The award is not necessarily one of service; however, service can and often will play a major role in selection. This award will be given to students whose excellence of contribution both reflects a commitment over time and a high level of respect. The Outstanding Senior Awards Committee shall aim, but is not bound, to select between seven and ten recipients.

Students, faculty and staff are are all welcome to submit nominees.
Contributions to excellence may be exhibited in ways including, but not limited to, performance, service, dedication, and character. No form of excellence shall be given particular emphasis. Special consideration shall be given to candidates who have not already been recognized for their contributions.

<<Definition of Award. The Outstanding Senior Award shall be presented annually to those graduating seniors who have contributed most to excellence at Rice University.
Eligibility of Award. The Outstanding Senior Award shall be presented annually to those graduating seniors who have contributed most to excellence at Rice University.
Criteria for Award. The committee shall consider the following criteria in selecting recipients of the award:(a) Contributions to excellence may be exhibited in ways including, but not limited to, performance, service, dedication, and character. No form of excellence shall be given particular emphasis. (b) special consideration shall be given to candidates who have not already been recognized for their contributions.
Nomination of Candidates. The committee shall make a nomination form available on the Student Association website or through other appropriate means. All nominations must be made through this form no later than the end of March. The committee shall inform nominees of their nomination and provide them with the opportunity to submit a resume and any other supporting documents with at least two weeks notice.
Timeline. The committee shall make and report its decision no later than the second to last Senate meeting of the Spring Semester. >>
