A Certification Request Form must be submitted NO LATER than the second week of classes.
I have completed the online VA application to start my benefits. ( Only done your first semester)
I must submit a copy of my Certificate of Eligibility to the School Certifying Official.
If I drop or change courses, I must notify the School Certifying Official of these changes. As a reminder, when students drop courses while using VA benefits, a debt could be assessed by the VA and could leave you with a balance at the university.
School Certifying Officials may only certify courses that are degree requirements. It is highly recommended you consult with your Academic Advisor prior to enrolling.
The VA will not fund courses that have already been previously taken and successfully completed per the school catalog.
The amount of credits I take will affect my enrollment status and payment amount from the VA.
Students are responsible for checking their student email.
It is required by the VA that schools provide students with a College Shopping Sheet. This can be found in your MyCentral. If you have issues finding this document, please contact our office. By checking this box you are acknowledging you are aware of where to view this document and were notified of it.
If this is my first time use Chapter 35, please be aware that your first payment will be a paper check.
Students using Federal and/or State Tuition Assistance must apply for these benefits separately.
Students using Missouri Returning Heroes must apply for this separately.
If I am using Chapter 33, Chapter 30, and Chapter 1606 I must verify my enrollment at the end of each month in order to receive my monthly stipend.
Questions about payments and eligibility need to be directed to the VA Hotline: 1-888-442-4551.
For the VA to pay for remedial courses ( ENGL 1000, MATH 1010, MATH 1020, MATH 1040, MATH 1101, MATH 1110, MATH 1610, & MATH 1810) courses must be taken on campus and can not be certified if they are online.
Students must be making satisfactory academic progress towards completion of your program of study. Failure to maintain satisfactory academic progress will result in termination of benefits.
The following programs are not approved for VA funding at UCM: Alternative Certification Program, Individualized Programs except BS/ BA General Studies, THRIVE program, and the last 2 years of the Radiologic Technology Program (students need to seek VA approval from affiliates at their sites)
If you are still actively serving (Active Duty, National Guard, or Reserves) and have orders, extended drill weekends, or Annual Tour dates that will impact your courses this semester. Please contact our office 660-543-8776.
I understand that if I earn an F grade and stop attending class, it will be reported to the VA and could result in a debt to the VA and possibly to the university.
