Thank you for your interest in being a Literacy Volunteer. We will start recruiting volunteers for the 2024-2025 school year in late August. If you would like to receive information next year on joining the program please complete this form.
The Literacy Volunteer Program is a program that focuses on improving the reading skills of struggling readers in all Wayzata Public Schools elementary schools. Volunteers listen to and support students as they read aloud from books for 20-30 minutes once a week during the school day, November - May. Each student in the program is assigned to one volunteer.
Volunteer orientation is required for any new volunteers. All volunteers must complete a background check every three years.
