Do you love Jesus? Are you good with kids? Do you have time and availability on Sunday mornings or another time during the week? We need your help! Take a look at the variety of options below and let us know how you are interested in serving at Family of Christ!

YOUTH VOLUNTEERS! You matter to us, and because you do, we want to make sure that you have the opportunity to connect with your friends and feed your faith as well. If you serve in KidZone on Sunday mornings, we ask that you participate in Powerhouse (9th-12th) or CrossTraining (6th-8th) on Wednesday evenings. If you aren't involved in either of those programs, we ask that you serve in KidZone half of the time and attend The Point (Sunday morning youth Bible study) the other half.

Read through the following roles and their brief descriptions. Check the one(s) that interest you and include your contact information at the bottom of the form. Ruth Woltmann, our children's ministry director, will contact you with more information.

Elementary Large Group Teacher: Present the large group Bible lesson through a variety of ways such as storytelling, games, object lessons, role playing. Has a heart for sharing the Good News with kids. Serves every Sunday possible, but only teaches 1-2 weeks per month depending on the size of the team; September - May

Early Childhood Large Group Teacher: same description as above, but for preschool - kindergarten students

Elementary Small Group/Class Leader: Be the kind, caring adult (or youth!) who gets to know and facilitate learning for a class of kids in 1st - 5th grade. Help kids stay on task and has a heart for building relationships with kids and guiding them to discover God’s Word and how it fits into their lives. Serves every Sunday possible, but at least 2 to 3 weeks per month; September - May

Early Childhood Small Group/Class Leader: same description as above, but for preschool - kindergarten students

KidZone Buddy: Youth or adult that serves as a guide for one preschool - 5th grade student that has some special needs and unique challenges. A KidZone Buddy has a heart to work with kids and help them grow in Jesus. Serves every Sunday possible on a sign-up basis so that every student who needs a buddy has one assigned.

Nursery Assistant: Youth or adult who serves on a volunteer basis by providing love and care to the little ones in our nursery. Serves approximately once a month.

Substitute: Be available on an “on-call basis” to step in when needed to cover for a class leader or buddy that is not available. Substitutes will not need to prep a lesson - just prepared to serve where needed on an as-needed, one-week at a time basis.

Welcome Team: Cheerfully greet families, assist with registrations, help with check in, answer questions or point them in the right direction. Serves at least one Sunday a month. September - May

Supply Manager: Help gather and prep the materials needed for KidZone each week. Serves about an hour per week. Schedule is flexible. September - May

Worship Activity Coordinator: Our goal is for families to be able to worship together. This individual (or group) will assist the director of children's ministry in preparing the worship activities, bags, and other resources to help our youngest learners to fully participate in worship as best as they can.

Children and Family Ministry Team: Helps the director of children's ministry plan and organize programs and events to engage church, preschool, and child care families - may be educational, fun, or for spiritual development. Also serves as an advisory team to make decisions as we work together to reach more children and families with the good news of Jesus!

Preschool Parking Lot Assistant: We are looking for a small group of volunteers who will serve one day a week (Monday-Friday) as an outdoor greeter (no matter the weather!) for our preschool program during drop off and/or pick up. So many of our families have younger children and having an extra adult to help watch kids in cars or walk preschool students in to the building would be greatly appreciated by so many new and expectant mothers and families with multiple young children.

Event Team: We need other youth and adults (who aren't parents of kids 0-12) to help with one-time family events so that parents can fully participate with their own children. We will contact you when these special occasions come up.

VBS Program Director: Our VBS is HUGE and AWESOME and NEEDS some more hands to oversee the big picture during the week. This is a new role that works directly with Ruth and Patti to make VBS week a great success!

VBS Decorating Director: Next to the VBS Program Director, this is the role that starts working almost a year in advance! If God has gifted you with the ability to take an space and turn it into a totally different world - this job may be for you!

VBS Volunteer Director: This is also a new role for 2022. We need someone who specializes in putting the right people in the right place to maximize their God-given gifts and abilities during VBS.

VBS Supply Manager: We use SO MUCH stuff during VBS to share Jesus' love with over 300 kids! This person works behind the scenes to make sure that every station and crew leader has exactly what they need to do their job well.

Thrivent Action Team Grant Manager: Did you know that Family of Christ has over 200 Thrivent members that each have access to one or two $250 grants every year? That's $50,000 - $100,000 that can be used for church ministries, neighborhood projects, or fundraisers that mostly goes unused! Are you organized and able to help write grant applications? This job may be for you! The FOC staff has a list of dozens of projects (especially for children's ministry) waiting for Thrivent members who are interested in applying for the grants.
