How important is it for you to have USB-C charging ports in addition to the traditional port?
The question will be asked for two different laptop categories.
USB-C charging ports for low to medium powered laptops (100W or less):
How important is it for you to have USB-C charging ports in addition to the traditional port?
Not important at all
Critically important

USB-C charging ports for high powered laptops (up to 230W power budget):
This question mainly regards "trickle charging" and CPU-only operation of high-powered laptops with an "up to" 100W USB-C charger. This question does not yet concern future prospect for full-power operation at 240W.

When buying a new laptop, would you like to be able to exchange the traditional charger with an USB-C alternative out of the box?
*
Imagine an "up to 100W" laptop comes with ports for both barrel-plug and USB-C charging and it has a barrel plug charger by default. When customizing the configuration on bestware, would you like to remove the "original" charger from your order and replace it with a more expensive USB-C charger if both options provide similar performance?
How much are you willing to pay extra for a more premium charger for low to medium powered laptops (100W or less):
Assume a laptop with 90W power budget and 1299,- € starting price. Premium features may be USB-C, reduced weight, additional USB port on the charger itself. Assume the hypothetical charger's features to scale with price gap according to market realities.

Would you suggest to remove traditional charging ports alltogether for low/medium powered laptops?

Let's assume you prefer using USB-C charging for laptops with 100W power budget or less. Would you consider to completely remove the barrel plug port, even as a fallback option?

Removing the "original" port may or may not create space for one additional I/O port or it may make it possible to make the laptop thinner.

On the other hand, there are concerns about the long-term durability of USB-C ports when used in highly mobile (or rough) conditions for years.

Assume such a laptop already has plenty of I/O ports such as 2x USB-C, 2x USB-A, HDMI and Card Reader in addition to the original charging port. Assume the original port to be the most common industry standard port with 5.5 mm outer diameter and 2.5 mm inner diameter (IEC 60130-10).
