The 2021-2023 Georgia STARTALK Pilot Program: Career Pathway in Chinese will progress in three phases: (1) The online pre-camp (February–May, 2022) will consist of 30 hours of synchronous instruction via Zoom, 5 hours of synchronous activity on Canvas and Flipgrid and 4.5 hours of synchronous interactions with invited Chinese-speaking professionals. (2) The residential summer camp (July 10-30, 2022) at Agnes Scott College in Georgia will consist of a 3-week immersion experience with language, music and sports classes on weekdays, cultural activities and extensive reading in the evenings, and field trips on weekends; (3) The online post-camp (September, 2022–May, 2023) will include 30 hours of synchronous instruction via Zoom, 5 hours of synchronous activity on Canvas a Flipgrid, 4.5 hours of synchronous interactions with invited Chinese-speaking professionals and a 1.5-day online conference, concluded with an alumni association through which graduates will continue to help one another with employment and career support. Will you be able to commit to the full duration of this program from February 2022 to May 2023? *
In spring 2022, there will be 30 hours of synchronous activities via Zoom, please provide your time zone (e.g., Eastern Time) and ALL available two-hour periods for synchronous activities (e.g., Monday to Fridays, 7 PM - 11 PM ET & Saturdays and Sundays, 6 AM – 11 PM ET). This will help us plan for the synchronous activities ahead of time. *
In summer 2022, students will arrive at Agnes Scott College on July 10, 2022, and depart on July 30, 2021. Will you be able to purchase your air ticket ahead of time? Your air ticket will be reimbursed upon your arrival. *
