The 2021-2023 Georgia STARTALK Pilot Program: Career Pathway in Chinese will progress in three phases: (1) The online pre-camp (February–May, 2022) will consist of 30 hours of synchronous instruction via Zoom, 5 hours of synchronous activity on Canvas and Flipgrid and 4.5 hours of synchronous interactions with invited Chinese-speaking professionals. (2) The residential summer camp (July 10-30, 2022) at Agnes Scott College in Georgia will consist of a 3-week immersion experience with language, music and sports classes on weekdays, cultural activities and extensive reading in the evenings, and field trips on weekends; (3) The online post-camp (September, 2022–May, 2023) will include 30 hours of synchronous instruction via Zoom, 5 hours of synchronous activity on Canvas a Flipgrid, 4.5 hours of synchronous interactions with invited Chinese-speaking professionals and a 1.5-day online conference, concluded with an alumni association through which graduates will continue to help one another with employment and career support.
