Ron Moore was a founding Director of South Colchester Minor Hockey Association.  He was involved with Minor Hockey for many years as well as being an avid hockey player himself.  Ron was always a great supporter of Minor Hockey, and this tradition has continued with the Moore family.  Each year, a coach from SCMHA is presented with this award in Ron’s memory.

Ron felt that coaches should be recognized for their countless hours of dedication to Minor Hockey and the development of players.  He felt that two of the most important elements of coaching are:

Leadership – the coach should be a leader, who provides an appropriate role model, from whom the players learn.
   
Fair Play – the coach must demonstrate fair play during all aspects of the game and must ensure that all players get equal instruction and support.
