The Friends of Calligraphy Scholarship Fund honors beloved members. The scholarship fund is available to cover the fees for classes and workshops for students who want to study calligraphy. FOC may limit scholarships covering fees to one workshop or class per student per year. The scholarship might fund only half of the fee for longer workshops, such as the five-day Summer Workshop.
The intent is to award scholarships to students who cannot otherwise afford the cost of a class or workshop. Awardees must satisfy the prerequisites for the desired course, if any.
Please fill out and submit the following form at least three weeks before the start date of the class or workshop.
FOC will notify applicants at least two weeks before the class or workshop begins. Applicants who are awarded a scholarship will be registered for the workshop. For online classes or workshops, if any class materials (such as guide sheets) are mailed to the class, there will be no charge for students in the US, but international students may have to pay a mailing fee to receive those materials.
The following terms and conditions apply for applicants:
-- Comply with the FOC Covid policy: In the absence of a stricter policy from the jurisdictional public health department or the venue, FOC requests that all participants in in-person events be fully vaccinated and up-to-date boosted. Masks are optional. If you have a medical reason for not being fully vaccinated and boosted, we ask that you test negative for Covid the day of the event.
