Thank you for your interest in supporting Arctic Dog Adventure Co. as we continue to deliver eco-friendly dog sledding adventures in Fairbanks, Alaska! We are accepting applications for handlers for the 2025 Summer Season.

If you do not have any experience with sled dogs, but wish to learn more, this position is perfect for you. You will gain an understanding of the lifestyle of living with sled dogs without having to commit for several months during the busy, dark, cold (also– magical) winter season.

We offer 2 options:

1) Summer Handler + Guide (Paid - US Nationals Only)

We are looking for an individual to help us care for the dogs and our off-grid homestead during the “off-season” (May-September), as well as guide kennel tours and summer husky hikes. Salary + accommodations provided. This position is a pathway to promotion as Winter Handler + Dog Sledding Guide if you have little to no sled dog experience. 4 month stay minimum. Must have own vehicle. Those who are interested in the winter position will have their applications prioritized.

2) Short-Term Work Stay (Unpaid)

In exchange for help caring for the sled dogs and our off grid homestead, we teach you about off grid life, Siberian Huskies, & provide food & accommodations. 3 week stay minimum.

Please provide lots of detail in this application so we can see if you're a good fit for our unique, off-grid business & kennel. Due to housing availability, we usually hire only 1 handler at a time. Travel friends and couples (people who don't mind sharing space) are also welcome to apply.

Application period for 2024 Summer is closed. We are collecting applications for Summer 2025.
