2024 Therapeutic Adventure Professional Group Pre-Conference Proposal Form.
Thank you in advance for your interest in presenting at the 2024 TAPG Pre-Conference for the AEE International Conference, taking place on Tuesday November 12, 2024 through Wednesday November 13th, 2024. We are excited to announce that the 2024 theme is “Preparing the Guide to Elevate"

About this Pre-Conference:
This conference aims to encapsulate an immersive journey of self-discovery and skill enhancement for adventure and wilderness therapy professionals aimed at elevating their participants' experiences.  Through interactive workshops and experiential training, participants will delve into the intricacies of effective leadership development, risk management strategies, and therapeutic intervention integration.  This Pre-Conference aims at Preparing the Guide to Elevate their participants' journeys, fostering connections, facilitation transformative growth, and ensuring safe and enriching adventures in the nature that surrounds us.

Coming off of a record setting Pre-Conference in Madison-2023, we want to continue our focus this year of offering workshops which will support our JEDI (justice, equity, diversity & inclusion) values and assist you in attaining the Certified Clinical Adventure Therapist (CCAT) and Certified Therapeutic Adventure Specialist (CTAS) credentials. We are excited and hopeful to have a wide array of subject areas for this year's Pre-Conference and strongly encourage presenters to include hands-on opportunities for participants to learn and apply experiential techniques based on your workshop content.

Below you will be asked to please describe the format of your presentation, any tools you will integrate, and exercises you plan to incorporate. Please identify whether your proposed workshop can utilize outdoor land-based activities. If so, briefly describe how you can adapt your workshop to make use of these natural elements and identify any equipment or resources you may need.

Pre-Conference, as well as the AEE Main Conference, will be held at the YMCA of the Rockies in Estes Park, Colorado - so think big when you are creating your proposed workshop! There are numerous trails, access to activities, fire pits, and open green spaces that can be used in workshops. Include your technical certifications in your proposal if you plan to use these resources. We are looking forward to incorporating your ideas to have another great year!

Please feel free to reach out with any questions to the conference convener, Marlene 'Marl' Reinert , directly at TAPG@aee.org .

DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSIONS IS May 3, 2024.

All presenters will be eligible for discounted conference registration rates.
