HVC Scholarship Form for Families
The Hww Volunteer Corps department awards scholarships to a limited number of candidates. Those candidates need to demonstrate financial need and/or the ability to play a specific role on behalf of the program (Ex. Skilled videographer, photographer, graphic designer, lifeguard, etc).

Important Information:
Please be considerate about applying for the scholarship - if you apply for a scholarship you don't need, it may take funds from other participants who would not be able to attend a HYC/HVC program any other way.  This is not a discount available to just anyone. We do review each application carefully; in order to be successful, your application needs to demonstrate genuine financial constraints that cannot be overcome simply by fund-raising. In some cases, you may be able to offer a unique skill not available on the HVC program.

Scholarships are for teens, college students, and families, but will not cover all fees for the program.  Candidates will still be responsible for raising additional funds necessary to participate in the program.  If you are awarded a scholarship, the amount of the award will be subtracted from your participation fee – scholarship awards cannot be used for flights, travel expenses, visa costs, etc.

Please complete this application to apply for funds to be used toward participation in the programs.  This form is to be completed by the scholarship applicant, with the attached recommendation from the applicant’s ministry leader.  To be considered, the application must be complete.

DEADLINE: Scholarship applications should be received at least two months before the start of your HYC/HVC program.  We reserve the right to make exceptions to this deadline in the case of extenuating circumstances.

IMPORTANT NOTE: The Scholarship Fund Committee requests that you send a short (one paragraph is fine) note after returning from your trip, to tell us how receiving a scholarship benefited you. This is a mandatory requirement, especially if you plan to apply for another scholarship in the future.  Testimonies can be sent to hvc@hopeww.org.
In the case that a scholarship is not awarded, there are many alternatives to raising money, and they can be found in the Fundraising Guide below:
