The Houston Youth Activism Coalition discord serves as a platform to unite both youth and older activists in Houston. Founded by March For Our Lives Houston, organizers realized there was a gap in communication and unity between young people in Houston all serving the same purpose: make our community better for us here and now. This Coalition will be a place for mass collaborative efforts, promotion, and fun.

BASIC INFO:
-The HYAC discord does have older activists, who are welcome to join to share their wisdom to youth in our #advice channel.
-There are no participation requirements so be as active or inactive as you wish.

ORGANIZATIONS
-Joining as an organization: Your organization will be included on our directory. Leadership will attend a monthly call to provide organization updates and discuss/plan coalition wide efforts. Organizations are allowed to promote own projects in #promotions. Organization leadership have the to be monthly rotating chair: in charge of leadership meeting agenda and oversees workings of coalition. Organization leadership will plan coalition wide initiatives.
-Organizations must be in the Houston Area, school chapters/clubs are welcome, organizations not directly tied to activism are welcome. Organizations that do not meet this criterion will be reviewed on an individual basis.

COMMUNITY MEMBERS
-Joining as a community member: You will have access to the discord and all of its channels. We will not have a directory for any people, including community members. You have the opportunity to get involved in initiatives and even lead them.
