Horses will be preset in the standings of the bracket. They will be matched up as best as we believe they can be. Contestants will be randomly drawn for position.
Contestant will go head-to-head against person in the opposite bracket position. To advance, the contestant must score higher or ride longer than the opponent or in case of injury, contestant will get automatic round bye and advance.
Timer and judges have final decision. They will stop time when contestant hits ground or completes an 8 second ride. Judges will score 1 to 25 for horse and 1 to 25 for rider. Two judges will combine scores for the final score. The higher score will advance to next round.
Winning/advancing contestants will have a chance to compete in four rounds. We will pay highest marked scores in each round. Payouts will vary according to number of contestants in each round with a total payout of $2500 per round. Final ride off will be winner take all of $2500. If we get 16 contestants, the purse will be $10,000, with $8,000 from entry fees ($500 entry x 16 contestants) and $2000 added money from Chugwater Roundup.
