We want to hear from you!
We hope to reduce neighborhood flooding and make Rheem Creek a more enjoyable place to live next to, by making a plan to remove sediment from the creek and plant native trees and plants. As one part of the plan, we are asking you and your neighbors about what types of trees you would like to see planted alongside the creek. We will do our best to locate some of your favorite trees near where you live, and avoid planting any trees you dislike too close to your home.
Please read the storybook here:

Based on what you read in the story, why does Rheem Creek now flood each year? (check all that apply)
*
Rheem Creek was not originally dug deep enough when it was first constructed.
As houses were built in the neighborhood, sediment/dirt flowed into the channel, clogging the creek.
The pipes that carry water from the street into the creek aren’t wide enough.
Over time, thick bushes and other plants became overgrown and blocked flowing water in the creek.
Required
What will help restore the creek and decrease the risk of flooding? (check all that apply)
*
Removing the sediment/dirt that has built up in the creek.
Removing the overgrown vegetation and planting native vegetation.
Planting trees that will shade the creek, preventing bushy plants from growing back and blocking water from flowing through the creek.
Trimming trees and plants every year.
Required
Which statement below best describes how you feel about the effort to restore the creek and reduce flooding? (check one)

How might you, personally, be willing to support the project in the future? (check all that apply)
*
I could provide access from the street to the creek through my property, to allow a construction crew to conduct the restoration.
I could participate in a neighborhood workday to help with planting, trimming, or other tasks.
I could trim the trees in the creek behind my house each year.
I could contribute financially toward hiring community members to maintain the creek regularly.
