This reception event is a time to celebrate you and your accomplishment in participating in a PCC study abroad program during the summer of 2022. It is a time to connect and reconnect and reflect on your time abroad. We look forward to seeing you there at the SE Gallery on the 1st floor of SCOMM on the SE campus..

We are gathering student stories to share your experiences on PCC's 2022 Ed Abroad programs with the college community. We want to provide a space to celebrate your experiences and share stories and images with other students, faculty, and college leadership to foster community and connection in support of global learning and Ed Abroad at PCC on the occasion of the final day of the Study Abroad Student Showcase photography exhibit at PCC's Southeast Gallery--and through a digital presentation that will be shared with a wider PCC audience.

You have a few options as to how you can participate in this storytelling project:

Attend our in-person reception at PCC's Southeast Gallery on Friday, January 20th, 2023 @ 1:00 p.m. and share your story at the reception in a "Moth Style" informal storytelling session (starting at 2:00 p.m.)
Submit an audio file and photo image or a video file with your story, which will be included in a digital presentation played at the gallery and shared broadly with the PCC community.

You are welcome to attend the reception, even if you are not wish to share your story live at the event. More details below.

Whether you are recording an audio or video story to share or preparing a story to share live at the reception event, we have some prompts for you to consider to generate story ideas (~5-10 minutes in length):

Experiential Learning: Tell a story about how you learned something that you never would have been able to learn in a classroom. What was one of the most unexpected locations for learning you found yourself in on this program?

Cultural Insights: Tell a story about an "aha" moment where you realized something surprising about your own culture or the abroad culture or the differences or similarities between them.

Looking to the Future: Tell a story about something you learned that you anticipate will help you in future academic or professional goals and experiences.

Humor: Tell a story about your experiences abroad that made you laugh at the time or that you find humorous in looking back on.
