Think you can carve the best pumpkin? Now is the time to show off your skills! For the very first time, Antioch's annual Fall-O-Ween event will host a pumpkin carving contest and we want to see what YOU can create! Embrace the spirit of season as you gather your carving tools and choose the perfect pumpkin! Prep and decorate your pumpkin at home and bring it with you as you enter Fall-O-Ween! Enter as group or an individual for the chance to win prizes and hold the title of a Top Carver throughout the city.

Pumpkin Carving Contest
Contest Entry 
Eligibility: This contest is open to all ages. Youth groups, classrooms, service clubs, organizations, families, individuals, and businesses are invited to participate. Participants must enter Fall-O-Ween on October 26th or October 27th to be considered. It costs $5 per person to enter into Fall-O-Ween. Participants are only allowed to enter their pumpkin one night out of the two-day event. If you enter into the contest on Thursday, you cannot enter into the contest again on Friday with the same pumpkin. 

Entry Fee: There is no cost to enter this contest. Participants must provide their own pumpkin and decoration materials.

How to Enter: Arrive to the Antioch Water Park on Thursday, October 26th OR Friday, October 26th with your completed pumpkin by 6:30pm. Pumpkins will be placed on display for public viewing. No additional pumpkins will be considered after 6:30pm to allow adequate time for voting.  

Contest Categories and Rules
Category 1: Best Youth Carver 
- Participant must be 12 or under to enter this category.
- Winner will be chosen based on overall creativity and carving skill. 

Category 2: Most Creative Carver
- Anyone can enter this category.
- Winner will be chosen based on pumpkin transformability, color usage, and image creativity.

Category 3: Grand Carver
- Anyone can enter this category.
- Winner will be chosen based on depth of sculpting detail and overall carving skill displayed in the pumpkin.
Disclaimer 

This pumpkin carving contest is family friendly. Pumpkins should be whimsical, humorous, spooky, mischievous, or lovable and NOT exceptionally frightening. Especially scary monsters, violent, gruesome, or bloody entries will be disqualified.

Contest Drop-Off & Awards
How to Drop Off: When you arrive to the Antioch Water Park on October 26th or 27th, there will be a staff booth for contest entry upon entering the park. Notify staff of which category you would like to enter, and staff will add your name (or your organization's name) to the list and direct you to where your pumpkin will be displayed. Entries will be accepted from 5:00pm until 6:30pm. 

Judging: Voting will take place by the public patrons of the Fall-O-Ween event from 6:30pm-7:25pm. Voters are allowed to vote one time for each category. Contestants are allowed to place a vote in their category as well as the others. 

Awards: Winners will be announced at 7:30pm through the park intercom and will be posted on the Recreation Department's social media. Instagram @antiochrec_ca and Facebook @antiochrecreation. Awards will be handed to winners before the end of the event at 8:00pm.
