Petition for Credit: High School Articulation 2023-24

You have the opportunity to earn credit from MiraCosta College for one or more of your high school career education courses if you meet all the requirements. By submitting this form, you are requesting MiraCosta College credit for one or more CTE classes. If you do not qualify for the credit, MiraCosta College will not transcript the credit onto a college transcript.

MiraCosta College Administrative Procedure (AP) 4050, students must submit a request, or petition, for credit in order for the college to be able to transcript the college credit.

MiraCosta College will verify course enrollment with your high school instructor.

Please note the deadlines to submit this form, as they vary based off the K12 academic calendars. If your high school is on a trimester schedule, you submit this form during the final trimester you are in the course. Students attending schools on 4x4 or trimester schedules may submit multiple forms throughout the academic year if they are in articulated courses during two or more terms.

I must earn an instructor recommendation. Credit in music technology or media arts technologies requires MiraCosta faculty recommendation.

Most credit by exam transfers as lower division elective credit. However, each transfer institutions will determine if the course completed with a Credit by Exam notation on the transcript will transfer as credit. Students can meet with a counselor for more detailed information to see how their credit will likely transfer to a specific institution and/or major.

It's my responsibility to request official MiraCosta transcripts to be sent to another college or university. MiraCosta College accepts transcript orders online through Parchment. The first two transcripts ever requested are free; thereafter, $7 per request ($5.00 transcript fee and a $2.00 processing fee) will be added to the transcript requests submitted through our online method. Students may request up to five different addresses per order.
