By Discovery is an ART ENRICHMENT PROGRAM of the Beye PTO that offers elementary school children opportunities for exploration and growth through creative project-based learning.

BY DISCOVERY is offered EVERYDAY school is in session, on the following days and times: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 3–6 pm & Wednesday from 2:30–6 pm. Please note, as of 12/3/21 Monday through Friday has a waitlist.

PLEASE NOTE: Due to the uncertainty of Covid-19, programming is conditional: D97 must have returned to its regular M-F full day schedule, 8am to 3pm, for By Discovery programming to take place.

COVID SAFETY:
Covid-safety measures are a top priority and we will closely follow all CDC protocols that may continue into the 2021/22 school year. These may include: wearing a well fitted mask, maintaining 6 ft social distancing, and washing and sanitizing hands as needed. Should a Covid spike require a program closure, YOU WILL RECEIVE A REFUND for canceled classes, LESS a $25 PROCESSING FEE.

REGISTRATION:
Parents register their child to attend on specific days of the week throughout the school year. We are not a drop by program and space is limited to 20 students.

Programming may include Half Days from 11am to 6pm, for an additional $50 fee per Half Day session provided there are 6 or more participants (invoiced separately from the monthly fee).

Programming may include Teacher Institute Days from 8am to 6pm, for an additional $75 fee per Teacher Institute Day, provided there are 6 or more participants (invoiced separately from the monthly fee).

ENROLLMENT:
Enrollment is first-come first-served, unless there is a need to round out enrollments, should there be an imbalance that prevents the possibility for full-time participation. Enrollments are open throughout the year, based upon availability (some days may reach their maximum enrollment).

PROGRAM COST:
The cost for the program is $28 per day.

NEED BASED SCHOLARSHIPS:
Two full-time partial scholarships (or part time equivalents) are available each school year and reduce program fees by 50%. A child qualifies for the scholarship if she/he receives free or reduced lunch. Scholarships are awarded in the order in which they are received (first-come, first-served). Additional scholarships may be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis, should space allow following the start of the school year.

SIBLING DISCOUNTS:
A 2.5% discount is awarded to families who have more than one child enrolled in the program

MONTHLY FEES:
Monthly fees are calculated based on the days of the week your child attends and the total of those days per school calendar year, divided by 9 (September through May). Fees are pro-rated for those who enroll during the school year, based on actual participation days.

INVOICES:
Invoices are generated via "Wave" online accounting and emailed on the 8th of each month. Program fees are due by the 15th of each month or the next business day, if the 15th falls on a weekend or holiday. Note: Even though programming begins in August, your first invoice will be emailed on September 8th.

LATE FEES:
A $25 late fee will be invoiced for each month a payment is submitted past the due date's 3 day grace period.

CANCELLATION NOTICE:
A one month cancellation notice is required.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION FOR FAQs:
1. Students who attend an after school activity may participate in By Discovery following their scheduled activity
.
2. Students eat a snack (packed from home) and enjoy outdoor play (weather permitting) at the start of every
    session
.
3. Homework time is encouraged as projects/activities come to a close, approximately 5:15pm
.
4. Suggested pick up time is from 5:15 to 6pm, during free play (including Legos and imaginative/sensory play
    items).

ABOUT BY DISCOVERY:
Beye Discovery is facilitated by Stacey Grieff, MSEd, Early Childhood Education, Erickson Institute, Chicago and a dedicated Teaching Assistant. Curriculum is developed by Stacey Grieff and Jocelyne Adkins, Program Director & Founder of By Discovery, LLC. Jocelyne holds a Masters Degree in Art Education from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and has 18 years of teaching experience. The 2021-22 school year marks By Discovery's 10th year of programming at Beye. Stacey and Jocelyne are inspired daily by their students, artists both past and present & nature!

REGISTRATION & FORMS:
To register your child, please complete the form below. In early August, you will receive 4 forms requiring your signature. Please submit your completed forms by August 15th, 2021. Forms not received within this time frame will render your registration void, re-opening the space for other registrants.
