The purpose of Perkins' "Artists Reaching the Students" or ARTS Program is to bring professional teaching artists to schools, providing students and educators throughout the region with hands-on, multi-day learning experiences. Studies have shown that having in-depth arts-based enrichment can help students achieve curriculum goals, practice critical thinking, engage in social emotional development, and build self-confidence.
Our in-school programs are customized to fit the specific needs of each school by offering an array of art forms to choose from like dance, mural making, tile/glass mosaic, storytelling, theater, sculpture, poetry, drumming, songwriting, and several types of folk art.
