Penn Design Challenge
The Penn Design Challenge gives participants across Wharton, Integrated Product Design and Engineering the opportunity to design solutions to major problems. Last year teams designed for Gensler for individuals with disabilities, with prominent design firm Design Dream Lab leading design thinking workshops.
What you'll do:
•Recruit students across Wharton, Integrated Product Design, Engineering, and elsewhere at Penn to participate in the Challenge
•Create promotional materials and manage general Challenge logistics
Responsibility Timeline: Fall 2019

Healthcare Challenge
The Healthcare Challenge gives students an opportunity to learn and hone their design thinking skills by solving a pressing problem in the healthcare space. This is a major effort where ID Club partners with Penn Medicine and frog, a major design firm to give students a tangible and memorable innovation experience. As part of the Healthcare Challenge Team, you will own the success of this event and drive the planning, partnerships, and managing of the challenge.
What you'll do:
•Work closely with Penn Medicine to identify a pressing issue that they need to solve and organize logistics
•Collaborate with the Careers Team to partner with a top design firm to lead training
•Recruit students across Wharton, Integrated Product Design, the Med School, Public Health, and Engineering to find aspiring healthcare innovators who are excited to solve healthcare problems
•Manage the creation of promotional materials, marketing, and logistics
Responsibility Timeline: Late Fall 2019 - Spring 2020

Member Education
The Education Team is at the forefront of educating students on what innovation and design is like in practice. How can someone run an effective brainstorming session? What does it mean to prototype a product? As part of the Education Team, you will lead the charge on getting more students equipped to apply design thinking during their time at Wharton/Penn and beyond!
What you'll do:
•Identify student educational needs (Tech Prototypes for Newbies, anyone?) and drive the creation of related workshops – curriculum design, teaching, marketing and logistics
•Recruit faculty and industry thought leaders to campus to teach and facilitate workshops
Responsibility Timeline: Fall 2019 – Spring 2020

Careers
A career in innovation and design can mean in-house corporate innovation teams, product management, consulting, and more. The Careers Team works to strengthen ID Club’s existing employer relationships, build new ones, and help students discover and gain access to career paths in innovation and design.
What you'll do:
•Maintain and build relationships at top innovation consulting/corporate innovation centers across the country to facilitate student recruitment
•Work with MBA Career Management to identify resources and develop workshops to help position students for recruiting success
•Develop a recruiting/interview best practice primer
•Organize two treks – NYC Fall and NYC Spring (possibly also SF)
Responsibility Timeline: Fall 2019 – Early Spring 2020

Marketing
A club is nothing if no one knows what’s going on, and that’s what Marketing is all about. You will work closely with all club teams to help drive community engagement and attendance and ensure that events are well-publicized across the Penn Community (and, if you’re a photographer, help take fab pictures of students in action at our programming!). You’ll also drive our social media strategy.
What you'll do:
•Keep our community aware of the exciting things we are doing
•Ensure the club board populates our weekly newsletter with content and then distribute the newsletter to all club members
•Help fellow board members share information about upcoming events
Responsibility Timeline: Fall 2019 - Spring 2020

Social
Like planning events and helping to create a vibrant club community? Excited to meet people from across the wider Penn community? Have pull at primo Center City venues and just waiting for an excuse to plan a happy hour? Join our Community Team!
What you'll do:
•Ideate and execute awesome social events
•Work with other clubs at Wharton like Tech Club and Entrepreneurship Club to find opportunities for shared social programming
•Work with our VP of Finance to budget for events and manage ticket sales when needed
Responsibility Timeline: Fall 2019 - Spring 2020
