Yay! I'm glad you're here!! Boomers and Older adults need your help. If you are interested in the possibility of being selected for this private cohort, please complete this form. I'd like to learn more about your experiences and interests.
In the past, cohort participants have been speech pathologists, occupational therapists, technology specialists, special education teachers, audiologists, advocates, and more. Most of us are familiar with best practices for teaching others and communicate clearly. We realize the importance of building our own skills prior to teaching others. Everyone is eager to be part of a group and collaborate with like-minded adults striving to enhance the lives of seniors. It will set you up for success as you move forward and provide ongoing resources to provide help along your tech journey.
This group will meet weekly on Zoom for five weeks. Sessions will be recorded. The course will use a "flipped" approach. Participants will read new content and watch videos prior to our time online. Then, on Thursdays from 4:00-5:30 PM ET, we will explore apps, accessibility features, smart speakers and devices and online sites that are helpful for older adults. Participants will have access to a private Google Discussion Group as well as a wealth of resources in a collaborative Wakelet collection.
We will also discuss the concept of the role of a "tech concierge" to assist in communities of older adults.
You are under no obligation to participate if selected. The cost is $597.00 for this hybrid course. It's a tremendous value!
The cohort will start on Monday, March 13th, 2023.
Registration opens on Monday, March 6th. I will email you within two days of this form's completion regarding acceptance into the group.
A small number of partial scholarships are available.
