Yamate Japanese Exchange Host Family Application
We are thrilled that the tradition of the Japanese Exchange can resume from April 12-26, 2024!

For the 2024 exchange, we are looking for host families for 20 pairs of same-gender Japanese students that will attend Eisenhower, and 20 pairs of same-gender Japanese students that will attend Davis. For the 2024 exchange, Japanese students will not attend other high schools.

We have a few different options for hosting.
  • Family Overnight Host (One Week Only): If you are a host family, this option is available for those who only have the availability to host two same-gender Japanese students for one week, instead of the two full weeks the Japanese students are here. Your Japanese students will then be hosted by another family for the other week.
  • Family Overnight Host (Full Two Weeks): If you are a host family, this option is available for those who want to host two same-gender Japanese students for the full two weeks they are here (April 12-26, 2024).
As a host family, you will be their family and do everything that a parent and family would do for their own child and you will reap the rewards of a friendship for a lifetime.

Please apply using this form. We will contact you for an interview, and then with confirmation of your hosting arrangement. For more details, please go to www.ysd7.org/YamateExchange

Only adults who are responsible for the household where the Japanese students will be hosted are eligible to apply. Students - please ask your parents to apply if you are interested in hosting.
