Overview

The Copper River School District (CRSD) gives its students a boost in today’s technology-driven world by making a device available to every student. Teaching students to safely and effectively make use of electronic resources is essential to their advancement in almost any career. Ensuring that every student in the district has access to a computer has allowed the CRSD to greatly increase learning opportunities for its students. Part of teaching the effective use of technology is educating students on the responsible use of equipment. In an effort to reduce costs, instill responsibility in our students, and to keep providing students with access to electronic resources, the CRSD has created this set of guidelines.

The following are important guidelines that students must understand and adhere to:

Students are to comply with all guidelines set forth in this document.

Devices, power cords, and protective cases issued to the student are and will remain the property of the CRSD.

All use of district devices must support district-directed education.

Computer and Internet acceptable use policies are in effect at all times on district devices, on and off campus.

Students are expected to care for and treat CRSD-issued devices and equipment with respect. Failure to keep devices in good condition may result in bills for repair or replacement.

Students are accountable to all school, district, state, and federal laws.

All files stored on CRSD devices and networks are property of the district and may be reviewed or monitored at any time.

Student devices will be monitored and collected at any time. CRSD staff may revoke a student’s device and/or network access privileges at any time if the student is not complying with acceptable use policies.

External storage devices connected to a CRSD device may not contain inappropriate content.

Students are to immediately notify staff if inappropriate content is found on their device or web browser.
