What?:Connections BBC Becoming a Brain Champion Summer Day Camp
When?: August 1 - 5, 2022 at 9am to 3pm
Where?:North Lakes Academy Elementary School
Who is it for?: Those entering kindergarten through 6th grade (they will be broken down to an older and younger group for most of the day)
How do I register?: Shortly after spring break there will be an online registration available on the SAC page of the NLA website. The registration fee can be turned in to the front desk of the main office in an envelope marked for Connections.
Cost?: $225 ($45 per day/ per child)

Connections BBC - Becoming a Brain Champion Summer Day Camp
Fortunately our brains thrive on things that most kids love! Things like movement, fresh air, sunshine, laughter, time with friends, creative opportunities, and tasty, nourishing food.
Each day of Connections BBC will bring plenty of all of the above. We will also introduce kids to skills that healthy brains need, like facing fear and stress, knowing when and how to confront someone, taking responsibility, questioning your thoughts (they are not all true!), and removing ANTs (Automatic Negative Thoughts). These skills will not be learned in a lecture format. Far from it! They will be experienced through hands-on activities, visuals, roleplay, discussion, games and challenges.
I am not an expert in the field of becoming a brain champion, but I am actively learning from the experts who study the brain in a holistic way. I am then taking what I learn and converting it into hands-on, experience based activities that kids can relate to, learn from and have fun with.
