In these letters written by the Apostle Paul to the Philippians and Colossians, Paul wrote some of the most enduring statements about faith and hope. He also shared his most penetrating insights about the divine nature of Christ. Taken together, these two letters provide believers with timely encouragement and godly wisdom. Often called the "Prison Epistles" these letters were most likely written during Paul's first imprisonment in Rome (about 60-62 A.D.). He wrote to the Philippians to commend their faithfulness despite persecution, and to the Colossians to refute false teachings about the true nature and character of Christ.
