Explore funding for expansion of Weigh and Win to WIC.
Increase the number of family-friendly workplaces especially those that impact caregivers of young children.
Explore getting nutrition education programs such as “Chopped” into elementary schools, high schools and colleges to build cooking and gardening skills.
Create and implement a guide for how public health and community resource programs can work with Parks and Rec to increase access to green space.
Raise awareness by presenting maternal weight information at local, state and national health and public health conferences.
Engage hosts of prenatal classes in developing positive messages, evidence-based information and resources about maternal weight using sensitive language.
Collaborate with health partners and enhance higher education access to wellness, physical activity and nutrition education.
Introduce and promote gardening/composting/farming on all types of school campuses.
Turn Silver Sneakers program into a mentoring program and create one for women and families to explore the intergenerational approach.
