Banks School District students in grades K-12 will all need access and permission to utilize the Google Suite for Education. Students will also need a dedicated device for school to use during distance learning. Please complete this survey, which will help us determine who would like to check out a device(s) to use at home (an iPad for students in grades K-2 and a Chromebook for students in grades 3-12) as well as give permission for your child to utilize the Google Suite for Education Applications. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) applies to commercial companies and limits their ability to collect personal information from children under 13. By default, advertising is turned off for Banks School District’s presence in Google Suite for Education Apps. No personal student information is collected for commercial purposes. This permission statement allows the school to act as an agent for parents in the collection of information within the school context. The school's use of student information is solely for education purposes (http://www.ftc.gov/privacy/coppafaqs.shtm).             Under FERPA and corresponding Oregon law, a student's education records are protected from disclosure to third parties. I understand that my student's education records stored in Google Suite for Education Apps may be accessible to someone other than my student and Banks School District by virtue of this online environment. I understand that by participating in Google Suite for Education Apps, information about my child will be collected and stored electronically.
