The terms and conditions of the Mackay Transit Coaches Smartcards are effective upon delivery of the Smartcard to the customer and remain effective whilst the card is in use.

1. Applications
1.1 All information provided on the Mackay Transit Coaches Smartcard applications forms should be true and accurate.
1.2 Retain the Smartcard “Tax Invoice” as a record of the transaction and copy of the etched serial number.
1.3 Eligible applications for part or fully subsidised government travel will be granted interim approval until final approval by Queensland Transport.

2. Refunds
2.1 The Smartcard deposit fee is non-refundable.
2.2 When money remains in credit on the Smartcard the total amount of the trips and electronic purse will be refunded.

3. Card Holder Obligations
3.1 It is the responsibility of the card holder to ensure the Smartcard remains in working order.
3.2 The card holder must ensure:-
• The card is not defaced, vandalised or damaged (NO HOLES) in any manner.
• The Smartcard is not altered, modified or otherwise tampered with.
3.3 It is the responsibility of the card holder to notify Mackay Transit Coaches of any changes of address or
school. Failure to do so may jeopardise any government subsidy provided to that person.
3.4 An individual may only have one Smartcard activated at one time.

4. Lost and Found Cards
4.1 Loss of a Smartcard must be reported to Mackay Transit Coaches immediately. The card will be automatically hotlisted, barring all users from access to the stored value.
4.2 Hotlisting can only be removed at the Mackay Transit Coaches office.
4.3 Any Smartcard that is found should be either handed to a driver or sent to the Mackay Transit Coaches office.

5. Malfunctioning Cards
5.1 If a malfunction occurs on a Smartcard contact Mackay Transit Coaches immediately and a replacement card will be issued at the office subject to the malfunction being due to a manufacturing fault and not due to damage caused from undue care of the Smartcard.

If the Smartcard holder is under 18 years of age it is the responsibility of the parent/guardian.
