Each committee typically meets in person or has a conference call on a monthly basis (1 hour) plus additional time for designated tasks. Take into consideration your availability & only sign up for the ones you to which you can truly commit.

Membership Committee
The purpose of the Membership Committee is to work to help ensure continuous growth in membership of the AAGA. This committee is broken into two parts - the membership committee members (for recruitment) and the Ambassadors (for retention). Membership Committee: under the direction of the Membership Chair, the committee members recruit new members, plan & host new member orientations, and develop an annual membership drive.

Membership: Ambassadors
AAGA Ambassadors: An extension of the membership committee, the AAGA Ambassadors are a group of individuals who reach out to existing members on a monthly basis to answer questions about membership, as well as encourage participation & attendance at events. Each ambassador is assigned members that they contact throughout the year. Consistent attendance at AAGA meetings & events is strongly encouraged for Ambassadors.

Programs & Education: Education subcommittee
The purpose of the Programs and Education Committee is twofold: First, to provide programming for the membership meetings, and second, provide the members with informative and enlightening classes and seminars. A big part of this committee is planning for the future year so that our Calendar is completed well in advance before the end of the current year. Content should be relevant to the multi-family housing industry. Education: Suggest & select education topics/speakers for the association. This includes anything from lunch & learn programs to larger seminars presented by national speakers, maintenance education programs, and NAAEI credential programs such as CAM and NALP.   Committee members assist with setup, registration/check-in, and breakdown at our programs/classes/events.

The purpose of the Programs and Education Committee is twofold: First, to provide programming for the membership meetings, and second, provide the members with informative and enlightening classes and seminars. A big part of this committee is planning for the future year so that our Calendar is completed well in advance before the end of the current year. Content should be relevant to the multi-family housing industry. Programs: This segment of the committee helps the association develop content & recruit speakers for the quarterly meetings, as well as plan & promote any additional events other than our "Signature Events." Examples include social events such as a holiday party, BGF/PAC Fundraisers, appreciation events, and business & networking events. Committee members also assist with setup, registration/check-in, and breakdown at our programs & events.

Government Affairs
The purpose of the Government Affairs Committee is to report and respond to local, state, national legislative issues that affect the apartment industry, as well as plan & develop BGF/PAC fundraisers, and advocate on behalf of the interests of the multifamily industry. The Chairperson coordinates AAGA’s activities with the Georgia Apartment Association on all matters concerning local, state and national issues.

Finance
The purpose of the Finance Committee is to assist the Treasurer/Financial chair to provide and oversee the association’s budgetary process by preparing an annual budget for consideration by the board of directors and monitoring income and expenses throughout the year.

Signature Event Committees:
Trade Show: April 2021 (combined event with Maintenance Mania)
Help put on the annual trade show, where vendor members showcase their products and services to the apartment/property management members. This includes attending committee meetings, assist in making key decisions such as pricing for booths/sponsors & the theme, calling on vendor members to sell booths, marketing, day of event set-up & breakdown, and other duties as needed.

Maintenance Mania: April 2021  (Combined event with Trade Show)
This is an annual competition for maintenance technicians. It is a nationally-developed program where maintenance techs compete against one another for the fastest time to complete common maintenance tasks. Depending on their times, winners are eligible to go on to the national competition. The duties for this committee include attending committee meetings, deciding location/pricing/sponsorship levels, recruiting sponsors, competitors, and volunteers to assist with the competition, promotions/marketing, set-up & breakdown, and other duties as needed.

Golf Tournament: October 2021
Organize & plan the annual Tee Off Fore Tatas Golf Tournament. Duties include attending committee meetings, deciding sponsorship levels, calling on both AAGA members and non-member businesses to sponsor/participate, marketing/promotions, day of event set-up & participation, and other duties as needed.
