2024 Teen Summer Volunteer Application
Thank you for your interest in volunteering at the Smyrna Public Library! This application is intended for Teen Volunteers ages 13-18 (If still enrolled in high school). The Summer volunteer season will run from May 28th through July 31st. 

Guardians: Please have your child fill this application out themselves.  We will contact you about your application via email. Please allow up to 48 business hours after submission for us to contact you. If you have any questions, please email youth services at smyrnays@rclstn.org

Please note that the deadline to submit an application is Friday, May 24th, 2024.

Volunteer shifts are two (2) hours a day and no more than four (4) hours a week. The schedule is as follows: 

May & June
Monday-Thursday
9:00am- 11:00am
10:30am-12:30pm
11:00am-1:00pm
4:00pm- 6:00pm 

July

Fridays

Saturdays
1:00pm-3:00pm

Smyrna Public Library maintains a policy of confidentiality and non-disclosure regarding volunteer information.
Please read and confirm your understanding of the following acknowledgements.

1. Submitting this form does not guarantee volunteer placement.

2. If I am unable to work my shift, I will communicate that to library staff before my scheduled shift.

3. I understand that two instances of "No Call, No Show" will result in being removed from the volunteer program.

4. Volunteer openings are based on library needs and staff availability to supervise.

5. Volunteer tasks are based on library needs and may or may not vary throughout your time volunteering.

6. I am not a paid library employee. I will contribute time and talents to the library without payment or the expectation of payment.

7. I am expected to maintain exceptional levels of customer service while representing the library as a volunteer to the public.

8. I will be attentive to my assigned volunteer tasks, practice safety, follow policies, and respect the library’s technology, property, and resources.

9. I will protect the privacy and confidentiality of patrons, staff, and volunteers.

10. This is not a contract. The library has the right to terminate my association with the library at any time.
