Weekly Volunteer Availability
Most volunteers commit to the same day for a 2 to 4 hour shift during the school year.  We work from the end of Aug through May,  Mon - Thur from 7am - 7:30pm.

All new volunteers will complete the general orientation training and can then be scheduled for Barn Skills Training. Barn skills is more detailed training on RED's procedures for safety, barn chores, horse care and daily operations.  Once the Barn Skills Training is complete you can move on to Lead Volunteer and/or Side Walker Training.

Please let us know ALL your options for your general availability to volunteer. Once you complete the orientation we will confirm a regular weekly shift time.

If you can not volunteer weekly, there are more options below in "Special Projects"

Special Projects Volunteer
If you can not volunteer regularly during the week or you would also like to help with other projects, we have lots of options!  You do not need to attend orientation to volunteer for these. And they are great options for if you'd like to enlist your family, friends, coworkers, church group or club to help.

Maintenance: Volunteers are needed to help with spreading mulch on the trails, creating new trails, clearing brush or rocks and various other tasks on Sat or Sunday for 2-4 hours, typically every other month.

Theme Packs:  Your group can collect and donate 100 craft packs for our participants to complete. For ex: a foam cut out of a horse/heart/flower that can be decorated with yarn/pipe cleaners and beads to make a bracelet/necklace/ornament. We can provide samples and more info.

Trail or Seasonal Theme: Groups can create a new permanent activity on the trail. For ex: wooden cut outs of animals/charters. We can provide more info.

Marketing, fundraising, social media, press releases, newsletters... if this is your strength, please help us!!

There's also Round-Up, Horse Camp and Horse conditioning info below.

Please let us know your interest in any of these and we will email you more info.
