CSU SESSION DESCRIPTIONS

Shared Equity Leadership: Develop a Model and Method for LeadingThis virtual session explores innovative models in leadership that work through diverse and distributed networks. Attendees will learn about and engage in leadership training exercises that are rooted in principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion. The session focuses on emerging models of shared leadership from the American Council on Education and the USC Pullias Center. The approaches learned in this session will be broadly applicable to all postdocs and graduate students who seek jobs in industry, academe, or agencies.

Navigating Conflict Management: This virtual session explores key strategies to identify how you can better understand conflict as it arises in your graduate or professional work. Luiza Cliver will share how participants can best manage general tensions and differences of opinion through more seemingly intractable challenges with supervisors and colleagues. Cliver will also cover resources available at Colorado State University. The session is open to GradCO students and fellows.

Identifying Alternative Career Paths to AcademiaIn this virtual session Amy Cailene from the Career Center returns to guide participants through methods to translate academic skills to suit careers and jobs outside the university. If you are curious about how to find jobs in industry or other agencies where you can use your advanced degree, you will benefit from Cailene’s keen career insights.
