Title: Structuring your class to create inclusion, community and connection: Lessons learned through online teaching
Date: Thursday, January 14, 3:00 - 4:00pm
Facilitators: Allison Johnson, VCU Life Sciences, Center for the Study of Biological Complexity / Dianne Jennings, Tricia Smith, Cara Cario, and Ching-Yu Huang, Biology

This workshop will be a panel presentation and facilitated conversation about fostering a sense of belonging in online classes. Faculty will share their approaches, and we will share assessment data through our HHMI Inclusive Excellence in STEM program data about how students view inclusion. This workshop will be valuable for those looking to tweak their online teaching environment, and for those looking to switch modalities from asynchronous to synchronous this Spring.
