Be a Judge for "Build a Better Burque"
Students have learned the historical routes and structures of historical cities and how they were designed to meet the needs of the surrounding communities. Students then take this knowledge and explore the architecture and designs behind the development and buildings of local communities, including the Sawmill, Martineztown, and Barelas Neighborhoods and learn how they differ and supported the needs of those living in each community during the initial and development of those communities. Students have learned the historical issues and struggles of these communities as well as the current trends and needs.
For final exhibitions, students will take this knowledge and design their own cities, carefully crafted to support the ongoing and future needs of the communities they live in and serve as members.
