Hacking for Homebuilding is a statewide competition offered in partnership by Boise State University’s Venture College, a program in the College of Innovation and Design, and College of Engineering.

This is a ‘reverse pitch’ competition, which means you don’t have to bring your own idea. Participants will choose a problem provided by industry partners and propose a solution in the form of a new venture.

Please note there are two tracks for this competition:

Student Track: Open to higher education students across the state of Idaho. If applying as a team, at least one member of your team must be a registered student at a college or university in Idaho.
Public Track: Open to all community members. You don't need to be a resident in the state of Idaho to apply.

I live near Boise, Idaho and plan to attend in-person when possible. If I qualify for the final competition on October 25, I can attend in-person at Boise Entrepreneur Week.

I live outside the Boise area and will need a remote option for the Sprint and Preliminary Competition. If I qualify for the finals, I will be able to travel to Boise to compete on October 25, in-person at Boise Entrepreneur Week.

I need a remote option for all aspects of the competition. If I qualify for the final pitch competition on October 25 at Boise Entrepreneur Week, I will not be able to attend in-person.
