Message from the Quay Elves
Following the success of the Quay Elves campaign for the last 3 Christmas’s to give presents out to the FSM children in our community, we are doing the same again this year.
Who are Quay Elves?
I set up Quay Elves just before Christmas 2020, as I wanted to help the more needy families in our community. I have a small team of local volunteers, who are busy collecting gifts at a number of drop-off points throughout Connah’s Quay. Take a look at our Facebook page Quay Elves for more information. This is a community based initiative, designed to give those children who we think won’t be getting much at Christmas, to take a little pressure off the parent/s. Christmas has become a stressful time, so we want to relieve some of this stress and spread a little Christmas cheer. That is more relevant this year than any other year.
When can the gifts be picked up?
These gifts can be picked up from Quay Watermen's Café, off Dock Road in Connah’s Quay (turn first left after the railway bridge on Dock Road, and Quay Watermen's is the café on the right hand side) at the following dates and times: -
Sat 16th Dec 10am to 4pm
Sun 17th Dec 10am to 4pm
Mon 18th Dec to Fri 22nd Dec 9am to 3pm
Because of the smaller amount of gifts this year we’re just doing one weekend and the following week.
Password?
Last year one school had a password which the school gave to their parents, and the children really enjoyed telling us the password to receive their gift. It’s not mandatory, but let’s do it again this year. Let’s use “Santa’s Little Helper” again.
Deliveries
We will also offer the service of deliveries (if the family really cannot get down to Quay Watermen's because of illness or they do not have any transport) but only in exceptional circumstances. We are only a very small team and will do our best to help, when needed. For those that require a home delivery we will need a full postal address as well as the sex and age of the children who are eligible.
Please fill in this form if you would like to be put forward
This is to give them an idea of how many gifts they will need.
