ETA PD Grant Application 2019 - 2020
The Evansville Teachers Association recognizes the importance of professional development.  The ETA PD Grant Program was created to provide financial assistance to Association members pursing professional development opportunities.

1. Must be an ETA member one full year prior to application.  New teachers are excluded from this requirement.  

2.    Monies provided are for conference registration, double occupancy hotel accommodations (ETA will cover up to half of the cost of the room for each Member staying in the room), and round-trip automobile mileage from the member’s home to the conference location for a driver driving their personal vehicle. Tuition for college credit courses is ineligible.

3. PD Grant details:
        •  One PD Grant per member of up to $500 every other academic year.
        •  The total 2018-2019 ETA Teacher PD grant budget is $7,500/year.
        •  PD Grants will be paid as a reimbursement of up to $200 for registration costs and up to $300 for travel expenses:  including double occupancy hotel accommodations (ETA will cover up to half of the cost of the room for each member staying in the room), round-trip automobile mileage from the member’s home to the conference location at the IRS standard mileage rate for charitable organizations for each member driving their personal vehicle, or other mode of travel with receipts.

4. Application must be submitted to ETA office 30 calendar days PRIOR to workshop or conference.

5. It is the member’s responsibility to secure a substitute teacher and paid leave.  

6. Reimbursement will occur after the following have been submitted:
* proof of registration expense (detailed receipt)
* proof of hotel expense (detailed receipt)
* proof of attendance (e.g. copy of name badge, workshop program booklet, attendance certificate, etc.)
* proof of number of miles driven with personal vehicle (round-trip from member’s home to conference location) (Google Maps/MapQuest printout)
* proof of other form of travel expense (e.g. detailed receipt for bus fare, airfare, etc.)
* Reflective Piece - Please state how information learned at workshop/conference will be used to help improve instructional effectiveness in the classroom.  If non-classroom teacher, how will the PD be used to improve your effectiveness in your current position?

7. Request for reimbursement must be submitted to ETA office no later than 30 calendar days following workshop/conference.

 
* Reflective piece should state how information from workshop/conference addresses Indiana Academic Standards, School Improvement Plan, and/or district initiatives. Please address how instructional effectiveness in the classroom will be improved. Include one activity that incorporates this knowledge or new skill(s). How will you incorporate this into your classroom instruction?  For non-classroom teacher, please explain how the PD will improve your effectiveness.
