Abdul came to Canada in 2016 but first lived in Regina Saskatchewan. In June of that year, he registered at a school that provided LINC classes. Because he didn't know any English, he started at LINC 1. After finishing LINC 2 in February, 2017, he got a job in his community working at a warehouse. In September, 2018, he moved to Brooks, AB because he got a job at the meat processing plant. He started taking part-time English classes because he wanted to improve his English and his goal is to work as a mechanic, the same as he did back home. Once he finishes LINC 4, he'll take the citizenship test, get his passport and visit his family back home.
