We are hosting a completely virtual Vacation Bible School this summer. The theme is timely, compassion: for others, for ourselves, and for the world. The focus this year is on LovingKindness. The nature of a virtual VBS means that your family can do what works for you, find some time where you can be together-Compassion Camp requires parents to help facilitate and lead some of the activities, and enjoy learning and playing together.
On July 12th you will be emailed a link to a Google Classroom. There are five sessions worth of videos, activities, crafts, and prayers. Your family can decide how you would like to proceed. You can go through the sessions like a traditional VBS, one session a day for five days; you can go through the sessions once a week for five weeks, or something in the middle. The Google Classroom information will be up through the end of the summer.
Virtual VBS is free and we would love for you to join us, wherever you are! We are asking local families who would like a supply bag and t-shirt to contribute $15 for the first child registered and $8 per additional child. Payments can be made when picking up supplies. Scholarships are available if cost is prohibitive.
If you are in San Antonio the second weekend in July we will be distributing supply bags. This year we will gather in person on July 10th, outdoors, to put together your supply bag. If you cannot make distribution you will find most of the supplies in your home arts and crafts supplies. If you cannot make the distribution event and would still like to purchase supplies and t-shirts, please call the church office at 210-226-8341 to arrange for a time for pick up.
****VBS t-shirts have already been ordered. We do our best to guess the number of children who will register and the size they may wear; however, we cannot guarantee your child gets the size you put on their registration form. We will always size up so your child can grow into the shirt if it doesn't fit right away. If you do not need a t-shirt, you can leave that question blank.****
*Once you complete this registration you will be added as students to a Google Classroom. The material will be available on July 12th.
FAQs
Q: The event says that the age range is K-5th grade, but I have older/younger children. Can they be a part of it too?
A: Of course! The stories and activities can be appreciated and enjoyed by all ages. There are some modifications for pre-school age children in the Google Classroom, including modified Bible stories.
Q: Can I invite my friends and family who have kids?
A: Absolutely! Compassion Camp is open to all kids. They don't even have to live in San Antonio! The more the merrier. Please pass on the link to this registration form when you invite others or my email address Erika Stiner

A: No! The material will be available throughout July and August. You can join at any time. There is a deadline for receiving supply bags, but you can find most of the supplies in a well stocked home craft area.
