GSHCDC SWAT Volunteers 2023

If your schedule does not allow you to join us for 5 days this Summer, but you would like to volunteer, join our SWAT Team! There are many pre-camp and end-of-camp jobs that we refer to as SWAT jobs, and the volunteers who fulfill them become our SWAT Team.

SWAT jobs require a minimum of eight (8) hours of volunteer time and guarantee placement of one camper in either session of camp. Please select only one item in each section.

SUPPLY ASSISTANCE FOR UNPACKING STORAGE POD: Date to be determined, early May. *Can be labor intensive. (two positions available)

STAFF MEAL FOR OUTDOOR TRAINING: Assist Meal Coordinator with purchasing, preparing, serving, and clean-up for Outdoor Training on Sat. June 3 at Temple Isaiah in Fulton. (two positions)

SUPPLY ASSISTANCE FOR OUTDOOR TRAINING: Assist in filling craft supply orders (detail-oriented job) at Outdoor Training on Sat. June 3 at Temple Isaiah in Fulton. (one position)

WRAP-UP AND PACK-UP ON FRIDAY 6/30: May include sorting supplies, restocking supplies, clean-up of camp equipment, packing/loading boxes, cleaning up grounds of Temple Isaiah. *Can be labor intensive. (three positions available)

6TH GRADE ACTIVITY SUPPORT: Assist with late program on Wed. June 28 from 6-10 pm (crafts, food) AND on Thurs. June 29 from 7-10 am (breakfast set-up, clean-up). At Temple Isaiah in Fulton. (three positions available)

PA LEADER ASSISTANT: Position One: Prepare documentation of volunteer hours for PA girls. Must be available Thurs. evening 6/29 OR Fri. morning 6/30. *This job is suitable for someone with limited mobility.

PA LEADER ASSISTANT: Position Two: Pick-up and set-up refreshments for celebration of PAs bridging to adults, Fri. morning 6/30.

PROGRAM/CRAFT PREP/SWAPS: Making SWAPS for Headquarters and/or preparing theme-related program materials. The Program Director will provide the materials and directions for the swaps and crafts that you will be making. (four positions)

FLAGS: Buy fabric and sew unit flags. Sewing machine and basic sewing skills required. Flags must be completed one week before the session starts. The Program Director will provide directions for all the flags that are needed for camp. (one position)
