Please fill out the following questions to RSVP for the Tues., May 7, 2024 Nihongo Chat event from 7:00 - 8:00 PM ET (New York). Update (as of Jan. 2024) : participants should have at least some prior knowledge of the Japanese language to participate in this event. This is not a class taught by an instructor.

PLEASE NOTE: This free event will be conducted online via Zoom. To participate fully, you will need access to a device with internet, microphone, and camera (such as a laptop, smartphone, or tablet). このオンライン語学交換会は「Zoom」というアプリを使って施行されます。事前にパソコン、タブレット、スマホのいずれかにアプリのダウンロードをお願い致します。

Participants must be age 16 or older.

Further event details, including the Zoom link, will be sent the morning of the event.

Beginner- I can communicate in simple sentences with basic grammar. I know how to introduce myself and can say simple sentences about my routine (e.g. I go to work at 8:00.)

Adv. Beginner- I can communicate in simple sentences with basic grammar. I know how to talk about and ask about likes and dislikes.

Intermediate- I’m able to express my ideas or thoughts in sentences. I am able to understand and speak some about topics I regularly encounter in work/school or are of personal interest.

Upper Intermediate- I can describe experiences, hopes and goals and give reasons and explanations for opinions and plans.

Advanced- I can maintain conversation fluently and spontaneously without too much searching for expressions.
