Section I - Eligibility
To be eligible for summer housing, individuals must be degree-seeking students at a college or university in the United States or abroad and doing an internship/summer employment experience in the area. Official verification will be required from the internship/employment site.

Section II - Deposit, Payment, & Board Plan
To reserve a space for summer intern housing, a $100.00 deposit is required upon application. This deposit will hold the space and also serve as the damage deposit.

Damage inspections/assessments will be made by Robert Morris University upon completion of occupancy. Any charges for repairing or restoring university property damaged or destroyed by the intern or in the intern’s assigned room will be deducted from the $100.00 damage deposit. Deductions will also be made in order to hold an intern accountable in equal part for any damages which occur in the common area of the assigned residence hall. If no damages are incurred, the full $100.00 deposit will be refunded to the intern. If damages exceed $100.00, the intern will be invoiced for the overage.

No board plan is available for summer intern housing. Interns are responsible for their own meals.

Section III - Period of Contract
Summer Housing is available beginning May 15, 2022 until August 6, 2022. The intern must vacate the assigned space by 5:00 pm on August 6, 2022.

Any requested changes to the intended dates of arrival or departure must be submitted in writing and approved by the Office of Residence Life.

Several conditions must be met in order for an intern to officially be permitted to take occupancy of the assigned residence hall room:
1) Submission of this completed Contract & Terms of Agreement
2) Summer Intern Housing Application
3) $100.00 deposit.
4) Submission of eligibility verification from college/university and/or internship site
5) Submission of completed health forms (which will be emailed after submission of this application)

An intern is considered to have taken occupancy of his/her residence hall room space upon receipt of keys to the assigned location. An intern is considered to have terminated occupancy upon removal of all belongings from University property and the return of all University issued keys to the Office of Residence Life. Occupancy, and thus billing, continues for each night an individual is in possession of a University room key.

An intern may not transfer his/her right to occupy a residence hall room.

Section IV - Room Assignments
Housing assignments will be made at the discretion of the Director of the Office of Residence Life. Every effort will be made to accommodate specific housing requests made by interns and/or employers. Residence accommodations are available only at the Moon Township Campus.

All residence halls are smoke free environments. Smoking is not permitted in student rooms, apartments, suites or in the common areas of any building.

The University reserves the right to change housing assignments. An intern may request a room change by submitting the request in writing to the Director of the Office of Residence Life for consideration. No attempt will be made to honor requests for residence hall roommates based on race, color, sex, age, sexual orientation or national origin.

Section V - Compliance with University Policies
Summer Housing is provided on the condition that all interns comply with the requirements set forth in these Terms of Agreement as well as all other University rules and regulations as published. The University reserves the right to terminate this agreement and interns may be subject to prompt removal from University property for acts that are contrary to the interests of the University community or in violation of University policy or federal, state, and/or local laws.

Damage inspections/assessments will be made by Robert Morris University upon completion of occupancy. Any charges for repairing or restoring University property damaged or destroyed by the individual or in the individual’s assigned room will be the responsibility of the individual.

Section VI - Right of Entry
The University reserves the right of entry into an intern’s room to inspect furniture and equipment, to make repairs, or for any other reasonable purposes in accordance with University policy. A designated administrative staff member can conduct search or inspection when deemed necessary and appropriate.

Section VII - Responsibility for Personal Property
Student agrees to assume and bear the risk of loss with regard to all personal property kept or maintained in the residence halls. Robert Morris University assumes no responsibility or liability for damage to student personal property including damage to student personal property as a result of natural disaster, act of nature, negligent/accidental act of another student or any other act which may cause damage to student personal property. All such losses should however be immediately reported to Public Safety and the Office of Residence Life so that every attempt may be made to recover the property where possible. Robert Morris University does not carry insurance covering any such loss and assumes no responsibility or liability for the payment of any such loss. Students are strongly encouraged to secure rental/property insurance as appropriate. All students are strongly encouraged to inform their parent(s) or legal guardian(s) to determine if coverage for student personal property is afforded under their homeowner’s insurance policy. All students are encouraged to keep their rooms, suites and/or apartments locked and their valuables secured at all times.

Summer Student Housing Contract & Terms of Agreement
