Casper's The Nutcracker audition dates are Saturday, Aug. 9, 2025 for Soloists and Saturday, Sept. 13, 2025 for all other parts. Audition times will be published through the Rising Star app and online at rstd.net.

Children ages 5 to 18 years old may audition, as well as adults for other roles we will need filled.

Students auditioning for soloist roles must be age 14+ and have a minimum of three years of ballet training. Those who wish to audition for the role of Sugarplum must be age 15+ and should learn this excerpt from the variation PRIOR to their audition https://vimeo.com/576817531.

Rehearsal days will be Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

If you are under the age of 18, you must be in a dance class (any style) at ANY studio in order to be a performer in the Nutcracker.

I will accept my roles in The Nutcracker with grace and determination to do my best, understanding that the directors are creating the best production possible and that they have placed me in roles that will allow me to fully and confidently perform on stage. If for any reason I have decided that I am unable to commit to performing in The Nutcracker after casting is released, I will inform the directors via email by Thursday, Sept. 19, 2024.

The majority of rehearsals will take place on Friday evenings and Saturdays, with some select rehearsals on Sunday afternoons. Please note any potential conflicts or days you will be out of town on the audition form. Dancers who miss more than three rehearsals or a mandatory rehearsal may be asked to relinquish their role. Rehearsals will begin on Sept. 14, 2024 and run until the performance week.

ACKNOWLEDGE OF RISK AND RELEASE OF LIABILITY: Tumbling and dancing are physical activities that, like any other sport, involve certain inherent risks. Those risks include, but are not limited to, muscle pain, bumps, bruises, strains, broken bones, ligament injuries, and other personal injuries. Although rare, some injuries can be serious in nature and even life threatening. The safety of its students is a priority for Rising Star Tumbling & Dance Studio. However, the inherent risks of tumbling and dancing cannot be eliminated without jeopardizing the essential quality of the activities. By checking the box, you acknowledge and assume all the risks involved in exercising, tumbling and/or dancing for yourself and the student. Rising Star does not carry medical insurance for its students. You are hereby advised that your student should be covered by adequate insurance to cover any medical expenses or other costs associated with potential personal injury that might occur while participating in activities on Rising Star’s premises or other events sanctioned or approved by Rising Star. Rising Star will not reimburse you for medical expenses or other costs. In addition, Rising Star’s studios are often very busy during class hours. We are proud of how respectful our students and their family members are to each other. Nevertheless, it is not possible for Rising Star to monitor everybody. You and the student are solely responsible for your own property. Rising Star is not responsible for any property loss or damage suffered by a student, his or her family members, or anybody else while on Rising Star’s premises or during Rising Star sanctioned or approved events.
