Integrating Bulbs into Your Garden

Course Description:
Unmatched in their exuberance, flowering bulbs give Chanticleer glorious displays across multiple seasons each year. Using the garden as inspiration, participants will learn how the Chanticleer horticulturists incorporate bulbs into numerous sections of the garden. The horticulturists will lead the workshop, which is timed when bulb planting occurs for next year’s display. The course will consist of lectures in our classroom, as well as talks and demonstrations in the garden.

Held over the course of two days, participants will gain insight into how Chanticleer staff weave bulbs into borders, containers, meadows, and in varying soil conditions. Participants will gain insight on how to deal with bulbs after flowering and what to consider when buying bulbs.

The course is designed for students with some gardening experience, whether as a keen amateur gardener or garden professional. While the course will cover the fundamentals, the purpose is to extend students’ plant knowledge, enhance their technical abilities and inspire them to experiment and explore their gardening styles. Course topics are tailored to provide insight into the Chanticleer ethos of gardening. Refreshments and two lunches are provided.
