The Fayetteville-Manlius teams will be competing, but they will not be eligible for medals or trophies, nor will their results be visible on the final scoring sheet.
The Invitational will be capped at 35 Teams.
Each school/team will be responsible for writing/running/scoring at least one event. (Schools with multiple teams may be asked to run multiple events. This will depend upon the number of schools that choose to participate this year.) Please think carefully about the events you would feel comfortable running and complete this Form accordingly. Coach assignments will be sent out on November 17, 2022. Please email a copy of the test and key to jbuchman@fmschools.org (with the subject line "Invitational Test") no later than December 9, 2022.
An adult must monitor your Team Room at all times. Team Rooms must be cleaned/returned to original configuration at the end of the Invitational.
All rules for Science Olympiad Competitions apply.
(The Invitational will be run based on "Regional" guidelines, if that applies for a given event.)
At check-in, Coaches will be required to turn in Publicity Release Forms for each student, confirm that they have Medical Release Forms for each student, and turn in completed Team Roster, Vandalism, and Tournament Signature Forms. (Copies of the forms you will turn in for Regionals are fine, so long as they are accurate for our Invitational as well.)
In the event that our Invitational gets canceled (or your teams are unable to participate) due to weather, money will not be refunded, but you will still receive the tests electronically so your Olympians will have the opportunity to battle the events on their own. (If you know any Sun Dances, have at it, please!) This means that you are still obligated to submit your assigned tests, even if your team(s) cannot make the Invitational.
To participate, please fill out this Form (by November 16) and mail a check made out to F-M High School for $100 per team (by December 1, 2022). Please indicate the Team(s) in the Memo line. The check should be mailed to Joshua Buchman, Fayetteville-Manlius High School, 8201 East Seneca Turnpike, Manlius, NY 13104.
