SUN, SAND & SURF - MARANUI JUNIOR SURF STARTS ON SUNDAY 6 NOVEMBER 2022.
Last session for the season will be Sunday 19 March 2023

Maranui SLSC is situated underneath the famous Maranui Café along Lyall Bay Parade.

JUNIOR SURF SUNDAY SESSION TIMES
U7 - U10 year olds, 10am - 11am (signed in by 9.45am)
U11 - U14 year olds, 11.30am - 12.30pm (signed in by 11.15am)
Note: Age as at 30th September.

For the 2022/2023 surf lifesaving season, children's ages are defined as the age they are on September 30.
Athletes stay in the same age group for the whole season - November 2022 to March 2023.

200m BADGE REQUIREMENTS
Junior Surf members in the U10 age group & above must be proficient swimmers and attain their 200m badge. To achieve this athletes must be able to swim 200m confidently.
Children are not taught to swim at ‘Junior Surf’ Sunday beach sessions. We strongly recommend that children attend regular swimming lessons. Pool swimming is essential to develop the strength, fitness and confidence that they require to negotiate surf conditions. Children who swim regularly prove to be the most capable in the surf and ultimately gain the most from participating in a Junior Surf programme.

Please let us know if there is any assistance you can provide the club (eg. coaching (Level 1 coaching course), helping with fundraising, BBQ's, throw on your wetsuit and give us a hand on Sunday mornings, Junior Surf sign in, beach activities including flags all need parent help, Raking the beach flag area on a Sunday morning from 9.30am, sprint training, ocean swimming expertise, diy)
